Well it was a regular boring rainy Sheffield Thursday evening and if someone offers you a free ticket to a gig you go! I wasn't expecting too much from this show but she was certainly pretty damn good. A lot of it I thought was probably down to the band she had... a lot of the songs like 'Gone' and 'Since U Been Gone' were really rocked up compared to how you hear em on the radio... no different to BA I guess! From the moment the lights when down and ACDC started blaring out of the speakers for a good 3 minutes before she came onstage, I knew this wasn't going to be the teeny bopper show I thought it would be.

She did songs without the band as well though and I thought she might fall flat on her face but she didn't. Very impressive and very good. 'Breakaway' at the end was very good... as was the huge stadium-esque singalong during 'Because Of You'. Infact all the trimmings were there from a rock show... audience response songs during 'Since U Been Gone' and a massive mosh-pit during 'Gone'. Quick Bon Jovi-esque costume change either side of 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' as well to accomodate for the wedding dress she used to get 4,000 standing fans jumping up and down.

The 2 covers were done to perfection as well... dare I say it she sounded better than Annie Lennox AND Cheap Trick! It's a shame the gig only lasted an hour but then again thats normal for someone who's only touring with their second album... performing completely barefoot though isn't!... but she didn't seem to care!

Only 8,000 people turned up for the show which is nowhere near the Arena's full capacity but with performances like that... she'll fill it next time. I'd definately see her again.
