BON JOVI
13/06/06 - KC STADIUM, HULL

Review by Steven Stanley:
Went with my Mum to the show... turned up at 2pm and got into the front gold circle section (there was a larger rear gold circle section for the late comers so we were really lucky to get in there). It was tiny compared to gold circles of old and due to insurance reasons there was LOADS of space in there despite it being a sellout. Well worth paying the extra cash for it. Got to the front barrier as well but moved cos stage was too high up for my Mum cos she is short and would have got severe neck ache lol.... you couldn't really see how cool the stage was from there anyway. Instead of Nickelback supporting for this show (they were awesome on Sunday) we got Kubb instead.

But on the bonus side we went to the rear of the very small circle section we were in and got to the centre of the runway also at the barrier... so I was within touching distance of Jon when he came on to start the show with 'Last Man Standing'. My mum didnt think she would get that close lol! I got a high five off Jon and touched his guitar before he made he way back to the mainstage. A girl near me also got his guitar plectrum. We took loads of cool photos as well... far more than I used on this page! Was surprised at my Mum too... normally she can't work her camera for shit but she got gems like this!:

The set wasn't as good as Milton Keynes but I didn't care because it's the first time I've been this close at a BJ show. It was also raining hard from the moment we entered the stadium but as soon as the guys came onstage it stopped. 'Rockin All Over The World', 'I'd Die For You', 'The Radio Saved My Life Tonight' and 'Complicated' were all songs that weren't featured in the show I went to on Sunday so I still got loads of set changes. I heard Jovi fans complaining about the show, but to be honest they still played for over 2 hours and changed the set around yet again. Not everybody does that.

Anyway once they were back on the mainstage one of the highlights of the nights for me... 'Rockin All Over The World', really got the place going. It was also cool when they started 'Bad Name'..."Shot through the heart and your to blame..." then the whole crowd crowd sang "you give love a bad name!!!" followed by a wink from the huge smirk on the big screen and the band launched into the song.

That, along with 'Captain Crash' in the set again there was no complaints from me. 'Story Of My Life' just as good as Sunday and we were treated with 'Blood On Blood' again. I was hoping to hear 'The Radio Saved My Life Tonight' on Sunday but I got it tonight... it was awesome. For some reason he didn't come round the walkway again for 'In These Arms' which was a shame for fans on the left side as they never got close during the whole show (as he made the same entrance/exit during 'Last Man Standing'). Due to all the space in there though it was easy to walk up to the stage and coupled with a half-decent zoom still get some great shots:

Probably the best song of the show was the 10 minute version (like on Sunday) of 'Who Says You Can't Go Home'... that song is amazing live. Talking of amazing... Richie doing 'I'll Be There For You'... wow. Next up was 'Complicated', a great track off the new album that I hadn't heard live before.

A girl in nurses uniform & suspenders came onstage when Jon asked if there was a doctor in the house! They started 'Bad Medicene' and Jon slapped her ass as she walked offstage! Next up... 'Raise Your Hands'... need I say anymore:

'Livin On A Prayer' got the biggest response of the night as in Milton Keynes followed by encores of 'Wanted Dead Or Alive', 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead' and 'Keep The Faith'. It was only my 3rd Bon Jovi show and me and my Mum got close as hell so I loved every minute of the show. Can't wait til they come back.
