'Never Let Go' is a song that features in the new film 'The Guardian' (starring Ashton Kutcher & Kevin Costner). It's about the unsung heroes of the US Coastguards that risk their lives on a daily basis so we, the public have a safer life. The song asks "could ya risk everything - for the chance of being alone" as Adams throws his heart and soul into his latest film effort... and it has to be said, it's one of his better ones.

The song has a great score arranged by Rabin and orchestrated by Jennifer Hammond. What you would have thought would have been the end of BA & brilliant film scores after the death of Michael Kamen just goes to show you... it's not. Michael Kamen would have loved this score. It's right up there and production wise the whole thing blends perfectly as a film soundtrack.

As an Adams cut, it's just begging for a guitar solo at the end... but as a film soundtrack, it works very well. If it is to be included on the next studio album (due early 2007) then some more guitars wouldn't go a miss. However if the album rocks your socks off anyway and Bryan is back on form... then this would fit in nicely. Overall it's a great song and a great tribute to the US Coastguards.

The official soundtrack for the film is out in the ether. It was released in the States on September 12th. Click here to listen to a brief clip and also buy the album for $9.44 (which you have to do to hear this song in full).

Due to licensing issues you can't buy the album and listen to the song in full if you are not from the USA. The song is not sold separately. No doubt it will be in stores soon. We'd love to share the song with you but 18tilidie.co.uk does not promote music piracy... although if you have anything about you, you'll know where to go ;)

NEVER LET GO
(written by Bryan Adams, Eliot Kennedy & Trevor Rabin)

can ya lay your life down - so a stranger can live
can ya take what ya need - but take less than ya give

could ya close everyday - without the glory and fame
could ya hold ya head high - when no-one knows your name
thats how legends are made - at least thats what they say

we say goodbye - but never let go
we live, we die - cause you cant save every soul
ya gotta take every chance to - show that you're the kinda man who
will never look back - will never look down
and never let go

can ya lose everything - ya ever had planned
can ya sit down again - and play another hand

could ya risk everything - for the chance of being alone
under pressure find the grace - would you come undone
thats how legends are made - at least thats what they say

we say goodbye - but never let go
we live, we die - cause you cant save every soul
ya gotta take every chance to - show that you're the kinda man who
will never look back - will never look down
and never let go - never let go

ya gotta take every chance to - show that you're the kinda man who
will never look back - will never look down
and never let go

we say goodbye - but never let go
we live, we die - cause you cant save every soul
ya gotta take every chance to - show that you're the kinda man who
will never look back - will never look down
and never let go

never look back - never look down, and never let go

The official soundtrack to 'The Guardian' is out in the USA and can be bought online as 'download' from Walmart, Rhapsody, iTunes and many others!
