30/11/83 - CENTENNIAL CONCERT
HALL, WINNIPEG, MB Review by Nancy Toyne: I went
to Adams' concert in 1983 at the Concert Hall. A girlfriend at the time was able
to get backstage passes. Adams was on his Cuts Like a Knife tour (still my favourite).
The best part was getting to go in the limo to the Northstar Hotel and party with
the band to the wee hours. Never did I see Adams drink, smoke or snort anything
all night long. That really impressed me at my 22 years. In
1985, I again got to go backstage. The most amazing thing is that he remembered
my first name two years later! He was just a friendly, genuine, all-around great
guy to his fans wherever he was. Being the great rocker
dad that I am, I am taking my 15-year-old daughter on Jan. 11. She is hooked on
his music, thanks to me playing his stuff when she was a baby, and cranking Adams
all the time. I'm taking Jan. 11 off as "Adams Day" from work. Eighteen
