We think it was in June 1991 that Bryan Adams went on a European tour. Before he started the tour he made a stop at a Canadian Air Force Base in Baden-Solingen, Germany, where he gave a free concert to military members and families. We thought it was wonderful, and although my husband and I didn't actually see it (finding a babysitter was impossible that night), we were able to hear bits and pieces of it travelling through the night air.

We know that Bryan had lived around the world because his father was a military diplomat. Maybe he understood what it was like to live in a foreign country and desire something familiar and Canadian. Perhaps he was thanking the Canadian military for the job they were doing. We thank him for remembering us.
