10/01/92 - RITZ THEATRE, NEW YORK CITY Summary
by Bryan King: Although the full US tour for Waking Up the Neighbours was two
months away, Bryan was in New York to do some press for the album and announced
a small venue show at the Ritz Theatre just days before the gig. About 2500 lucky
fans got into this Friday night performance which was the first US show in over
four years.
There
is lots of press and record reps at this show since it's their first taste of
the new material. Also, Mutt Lange flew in from London to do the sound which helps
alot! Plus, the fans who were quick enough to get tickets are big fans and keep
the energy level up for the band. The songs (especially the new ones) sound rushed
by the band due to either a month layoff between gigs or perhaps nerves since
it was a high-profile show.
