23/02/99 - PARADISE GARAGE, LISBON

Yesterday it was one of the best days of the year so far. Around 4 PM I went to a Theatre where Bryan, Keith and Mickey were going to reahersal for a TV appearance later on. They got there about an hour later. Keith and Mickey came on front and said hello to everyone ( we were 6 ). Keith gave me an handshake, I asked him if he recognized me, he nodded and gave me 2 kisses on my cheek! Bryan came after them but ran inside. Only stopped when he saw Sandra, recognized her, gave her a couple of kisses and went inside. ( Lucky girl!) We waited about an hour while we could listen WYG, and for "50" times Cloud #9.

They got out by the back door, but when we saw the cars moving we ran after them and they didn't fool us. 10 minutes later they were outside. This time Bryan came first. I don't know why, everybody stood where they were except me who went on their direction, so I asked Bry if he recognized me, from last October. He stoped walking and stared at me. I don't think he did!!!!! :( He signed autographs asked us if we were going to the concert, and got in the car ( Black Mercedes ). Then Keith and Mickey came. I went straight to Keith and asked him to sign a pic. the security didn't want him to stop so he was pushing Keith. "My hero" stoped and said:" Wait a secound"( to the security ) and signed the autograph properly! He kept my pen, which I only noticed when he was almost in the Van, so I said it to him. He gave it back to me and said: " Thank you sweety"!!!!! :)

A few hours later, I went to the club where the gig was. It started at 11:30PM and I was told to be there at 9 PM - I was on guestlist so there was no line for me until 10PM when the doors opened. I went inside and ran to the first row! I stood in front of Bry mic, a little bit ( less than 1 meter) to the left. I immediately thougt it was a great place to be at. The stage was very small and as high as my hips. Everything was white. They got on stage in time, actually 2 or 3 minutes early. All dressed in white with black boots! Bry was standing less than 2 meters from me. And Keith blinked me an eye as soon as he saw me, as in recognition.

Well, the gig was mega great. Bryan explained why they did the gig... They were invited by the record company to perform on that Talkshow, so Bry turned to us and said: "You guys know we love Lisbon and we were invited to a show of some guy called Herman, funny guy. So we thought it would be a bit of a crime not to play for you. So tonight we are small but we are mighty!!!" We were around 600/700! On Blues Jam Bryan acted a little moving his hips, pointing his finger and talking like a girl. Keith knocked out a column. It was a laugh! Both Bry and Keith did a lot of eye contact with me! I was so glad to be there. On WYG Bry come RIGHT in front of me and played almost all song standing there 2 inches from me. On Somebody Keith came next to me and gave me his guitar pick - it's black, says Unplugged and has his autograph. YUPPIE!!! It was 90min. no encore.
