10/04/99 - JANNUS LANDING, ST PETERSBURG, FLORIDA

Review by Kevin Siegel:
Well, its been 2 days now since I saw Bryan in St. Pete, FL and i'm just starting to get down from the high of the whole thing. I hadn't seen Bryan since 1992 and I had been waiting so long for this. The venue was perfect for the experience I wanted, it was just in an open courtyard that held about 1500 people or so, and I was right at the very front of the stage.

The doors opened at 7 and Bryan came on at just around 8:45 or so. Bryan didn't waste anytime rockin away by opening with Summer of '69. This got things going right from the start and the pace kept up the whole show. It was great before the show to be able to meet and talk with so many fans that were as big a fan as I was.

Well, the show lasted just about 2 hours or so it seemed, Bryan was really at his best. He sounded really good with everything he played, was kinda funny to see him playing bass, but I guess I can get used to it. Keith was jammin as well and was like right in front of me the whole show. During the show I was so damn lucky enough that I got a guitar pick from Keith that he tossed out after one of the songs, and I snatched it right out of the air. The crowd was really into it the whole way through, rockin to the old stuff and the new. If theres anybody out there who made a copy of the show I would be really interested in getting a copy of that.

After the band played a 2-song encore, the guys stuck around and were signing autographs for all of us in front for about 5 minutes. I got Keith to sign my ticket stub, and then Bryan came over and was signing and I gave him my ticket to sign. Well, he decides to play a joke on me and he takes my ticket, puts it in his pocket, and starts to walk off the stage. I yelled out "Hey Bryan, thats my ticket man", and he turned around and looked right at me and laughed, and then he took it out of his pocket and gave it back to me. This was the last thing he did and was then gone for the night. This was truly an amazing moment for me, it was better than any autograph for me, just to have that kind of experience.

Well everyone, thats just about my story, it was a night that I will never forget and I hope all of you out there have as great a time seeing Bryan as I did. If you read this Bryan, thanks for a concert i'll never forget and a night that will stay with me forever. You're the best man, please come back to Florida anytime you want, you're always welcome in the Sunshine State, and I hope it's not another 7 years before I see ya again. Take care all and i'll talk to ya later.
