11/07/99 - MIDTFYNS FESTIVAL, MIDTFYNS Review
by B.T. National newspaper ***** (Five Stars out of Five): After
four days spent with a lot of different bands and a lot of Danish beer, the Midtfyn
festival closed with an absolutely awesome live performence by the sympathetic
Canadian rocker Bryan Adams. He has always been known
to be an easygoing rockstar, and one of his trademarks has been never to attribute
his stardom any value. One of the most sympathetic things Bryan Adams has done
to prove this, was to play live on the main stage for 35.000 excited Danish fans,
with a new minimalist band formation: A power trio existing of himself on bass
and vocal, drummer Mickey Curry and not least the phenomenal rock guitarist Keith
Scott. It was obvious that when you write simple
3 minute rocksongs as Bryan Adams does they should also be performed in a simple
manner - without keyboards, backup vocals, dancers and other unnecessary standard
rock shows things. And it's great that you've realized that Bryan!! And not for
a single moment during the show did you ever miss the other guys because the trio
was so intense and they simply kicked ass (sorry for the expression), and it seemed
that everybody knew the songs, of course the hits like "18 Till I Die",
"Summer Of 69", "Cuts Like Of A Knife", "Can't Stop This
Thing We Started", "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me" and you
name it..... Like myself and 35.000 fans we all felt
that Bryan Adams performance was a blast - A TRUE NIGHT TO REMEMBER!!!! Setlist:
