11/11/99 - VALBYHALLEN, COPENHAGEN
Review by Andreas
Kristensen:
The gig in 1997 at Valby was sold out in an hour or so, and I didn't
get tickets... but this time around, during the fall '99 "On
A Day" tour I made sure to be the first! Eh.. I was kinda shocked
when we arrived at this, once again, sold-out gig... all 6.000 people
were stuffed and the heat was on... I mean what a great vibe...
but the guys all in white, and BA almost unreckognisable with that
'weird' hair and looking like 10 years older... And the guys...
I mean where were Tommy, Dave and Danny?? It sounded very different
but great. I don't remember the set, cos it was a fast pacing set
all through the almost two hour gig. A hot and steamy rock 'n roll
night!

Review by Martin Agervig:
Having attended BA's show at Midtfyns Festivallen a couple of months
earlier I sort of knew what to expect this time. BA's three-piece
band surely rocked the place giving no more than two sets of encores
at the end. The show was very much like the one at Midtfyns but
a bit longer this time. I can't remember the setlist but there weren't
any real surprises apart from "I fought the law" and "Take
me back". At the end of the second set of encores they played
IFTL and in the middle of the show somebody in the crowd requested
TMB and the band did an impro version of the song. Very funny by
the way because the band obviously hadn't rehearsed or played the
song for a very long time. BA couldn't remember the lyrics for the
first verse and skipped the second verse. Big applause! I'd always
been a bit sceptical about the three-piece band and I'm sorry to
say that it didn't sound very good this time either. BA is all about
two guitars and keyboards/piano and I'm glad he's gone back to that
winning formula. This night too the sound lacked depth but you can't
take away BA's ability to entertain and Keith's ability to play
guitar and that saved the show. Good but not fantastic...
