23/11/99 - KINGS HALL, BELFAST

Review by Mark Taylor:
I was eager with anticipation leading up to the show,I`ve been a huge fan of Bryans now since around `87 and have seen him perform live in Belfast in march `97. I was slightly sceptical that the group as a 3 piece could produce the nescesary volume and excitement associated with Bryan live, how wrong could I be. Bryan rocked the Kings Hall to its foundations, from the opening lines of "How do you feel tonight" through to "I`ll always be right there" 2 1/4 hours later he had the capacity crowd of 7500 eating out of the palm of his hand.

He has the ability to really work the audience, and their were some nice touches of humour,he kept Keith going about being sensitive and how he had to keep him in good humour since he was the main guitarist.Keith is worthy of credit here,I must say that I always rated him as a lead guitarist, but his playing tonight was exceptional, his use of the wah-wah pedal combined with some excellent lighting effects left you disorientated at times.

Special mention should go to the girl from Lisburn who dueted on "when youre gone",talk about star quality, she had total confidence and could actually sing,Bryan joked with her boyfriend when she left by the back of the stage that she would be taken care of by the backstage crew. He said he would see us next millenium lets hope we don`t have to wait
too long.

Review by Gillian Spratt:
The Venue was "The King's Hall"... he couldn't have picked a better place...... for the King of Pop had arrived in Belfast.

Bryan was fantastic - and any Bryan Adams fan reading this will know exactly what I mean....... I have been on a high ever since I saw him last Tues. I have read the review of The Point and funny enough I have to say 'Ditto'.. but he did incidentally tell us that his last visit to NI back in 1992 was the loudest audience he had EVER heard...

A girl from Lisburn got up on our stage to sing "When You're Gone" with him. She had told him that she sort of knew the words (after nearly deafening him with her squealing) - although she was the envy of every girl in the King's Hall on Tue. night I mustn't be bitchy and say that she was no good because she was.. She was very good and I have to give credit where credit is due.. Well done!!! I don't think I could've pulled a duet off with 'thee' Bryan Adams - I'd have fainted at his feet the moment I took centre stage with him...!!

Petit as I am at 4ft 10 I was thankful for the huge screens that magnified the stage goings on.. When a couple were going all lovey-dovey - unknown to them.. it was being shown around the concert hall - much to the ooohs and aaahs of the crowd.....

Atmosphere was electifying.. and with any first few bars the crowd were going wild. For me the songs that made the evening were Everything I Do / When You Love a Woman and Please Forgive Me.....

Can't wait for you to return Bryan .. I needed "Somebody".... Somebody like you to brighten up the dull November/December days that these months bring.
