04/03/00 - ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE, WOLLONGONG Review

The setlist for all the Aussie shows appears to have been pretty
much the same as Canada but I don't think they've played Straight From the Heart
at any of our shows ... yet ...I still have my fingers crossed. After much deliberation
another blonde was plucked from the audience to sing When You're Gone - she actually
sounded like Mel C on the acoustic version (I'll leave it at that). The crowd
was generally pretty enthusiastic - there were a lot of people standing down the
front in the floor section - and towards the back there were pockets of people
standing (fortunately without too much abuse being hurled at them). Even if they
weren't standing up - the crowd were singing along, clapping, etc. At one point
towards the end (can't quite remember which song it was), Bryan did tell everyone
to get up off their asses - which they did - and the whole place was rocking.
They added C'mon Everybody to the encore and finished with Bryan and Keith doing
Please Forgive Me. After the show, a small group of
about 20 or so were waiting at the rear entrance and Mickey and Keith appeared
and were very happy to sign autographs and have photos taken. Bryan came out a
little later, although he got straight into the car - but did sign stuff and allow
some photos (fingers crossed that they turn out :-) I asked him if they made it
out of Cairns before Cyclone Steve, to which he said "Just" - and I
then told him that we didn't ! For me - it definitely
was a Night to Remember - look out Sydney ... BTW,
the support act, Marie Wilson was just great - personally I think Bry should have
her come out and do It's Only Love with him !!! Setlist:
