31/08/01 - PARKLAND, VIBORG

Wauw!! This gig was a sell-out of 13.000 people and a fanastic open-air setting!! Very cool, cos this was in the area of where I live and the FIRST time BA ever played the part of Denmark called Jylland - people all over here, were sooo enthusastic and talked about "how cool it is that Adams is touring both big cities and now more rare places, that is not known internationally - and he's the only artist doing this"!!

I knew the the concert arranger's first-hand man, so I got the VERY first tickets and this gig is totally one of my favourites! With such excitement and the local TV, newspapers, talking about it for 6 month up until the gig, the day had finally come...

There were signs EVERYWHERE with the title "BRYAN ADAMS ROCK CONCERT - THIS WAY" leading to the gig, and people in their cars were BLASTING BA-tunes --- soo incredible cool!!! A standard set, with great singalongs - really fantastic, and BA's acoustic guitar playing on "The Way You Make Me Feel ", "Straight from the heart" & "When the night comes" was breathtaking... the singer for "When U'r Gone" was a real WILD BA Fan, and Adams told her, she was actually "One of the very few, who could actually sing" and man it was true... she sung like a pro! As she was from Copenhagen, (on the other part of Denmark) she got a real LOUDY and fun response from every us hometown Viborg citizens.

He sounded much more "big and complete" this time around w/ the trio and finished off the gig saying "Thank you soo much Viborg; you were fantastic" and after waving/bowing goodbye he ran to the mic a last time and said were quietly, "Just wanna say that, I'm really surprised by you guys - I think this will be one of the gigs I'll remember for many years to come - and what a beautiful summer night and setting". Rock on! (Back home I could enjoy watching the cool TV-news report w/ footage of "Back to You" - great memory to have!)

BTW, swedish rock chick, Lisa Miskovsky rocked as support band, and told us "I'm very proud to be opening for Mr. Bryan Adams - - and I'm very honered to have met him and I know he's ready to give you guys a night to remember forever - just before I went on, he told me how much he thought this place (Viborg) is really cool"!! Yeah!!! Suddenly proud to be from a smaller, otherwise dead, town!!!
