13/11/01 - HEINEKEN MUSIC HALL, AMSTERDAM

Summary by Bryan King:
It's obvious that this band likes to get out and play live. While other artists go into hibernation while working on new material, BA gets out for a week of shows each month. Such is the case with this show in Amsterdam at the Hieneken Music Hall. At the time of this show, nothing new in terms of BA music is being released for another six months from this show. The next project: the soundtrack of the new Dreamworks animated film entitled Stallion of the Cimarron in which BA wrote the soundtrack.

BA takes a shot at encouraging the arena to serve free Heineken since it is their arena.

What appears to be nothing more than a one week string of casual shows in Europe, this is BA just going out, having fun with Keith and Mickey and enjoying what they do best - playing live.

This show features a similar set to the concerts in the US and Europe throughout the spring and summer months. However, there are a few noticable changes to the set which makes show particularity enjoyable...

House Arrest is the second song of the gig. It's still a great live song to rev up a crowd with something familiar from one of the biggest albums BA's put out.

Also from the Waking up the Neighbours album, Thought I'd Died and Gone to Heaven is introduced and it is one of the few ballads that the trio attempts to cover with full electric instrumentation. They pull it off effectively, even though they cut out the second verse. When the song starts, it could easily be misinterpreted as Heat of the Night.

During the middle of the set, Do To You and Please Forgive Me and there to replace songs such as Getaway and Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?

As a reference to the Monique, the singer for When You're Gone, BA comes up with a clever rhyme during the second verse.

BA treats the Dutch fans with two acoustic closing numbers. When the Night Comes and The Way You Make Me Feel.

Some of the songs enjoy some slight variations than in earlier performances as the trio continues to find the best way to arrange and perform together.
