21/07/02 - CARDIFF CASTLE, CARDIFF

ReReview by Robertra De Silvestre:
Cardiff was like a comeback for us. We had enjoyed a fabulous, unforgettable gig on the same spot in 1999... so we were really excited to be back there. This feeling was made stronger when we realized that the poster on sale with the local newspaper was made of pictures from exactly that 1999 gig! Good to have a memory of it, even if with a 3 years delay ;).
Anyway, the weather was lovely and, differently from Hyde Park, it stayed so till the end of the day. Once again we saw fellow webboarders in the line and took our place... The waiting was very enjoyable even though the Park has absolutely nothing else but trees, flowers and grass - so that if you need anything else you have to walk for miles out of it!
At 6pm the gates opened and we ran to the stage as usual... and got a lovely 1st row position on Bryan's side.

And finally it was BA time... they started with Here I Am, which sounds better and better every time I hear it... then it was Back to You, Can't Stop, 18 Til I Die and on and on... a rocking start! The audience greeted them in the best way and we knew it was going to be a great gig since the very beginning.

Bryan joked about not seeing where the castle was (and indeed it wasn't in sight... being behind the stage)... he started looking around and pointing at all the buildings he could see, asking "is it that one?"! Sooo funny :)).
Later on he was talking about something completely unrelated and all of a sudden he went: "sometimes one wonders... where's the fecking castle???"! Big laughs followed. :)
Keith came down to play among the audience (Bryan did the same in Hyde Park) and when they got to the b-stage they greeted us while passing by!
Great songs once again... not many changes since Hyde Park but they added "Twist" to the b-stage setlist and it was brilliant. Talking about the b-stage, Bryan graced us with the sight of a girl flashing at him by grabbing a camera and filming her... thanks a lot Bryan, we could not miss that could we...er...;). Anyway he could barely start singing again after that as he was laughing is head off :)).
