at 22:05 h, bryan and the guys came on stage, bryan said " hola madruid" , lol, sounded very funny, he started with here i am and went on with the usual setlist...

durin cuts like a knife people noticed he had some problems with his voice, so they started singin out loud to cheer him up, somebody threw on stage a bunch of floweres and a spanish flag, bryan as always, lol, took the flag and put it around keith head..very funny....

after that he said he would take a break of 10 mins, and then he would come back again, he did sing another song, WYG..
the girl he called up on stage..well, to be honest, she couldnt sing lol....oh jesus.... she was called Carmen...

Review by Alvaro Pino:
Well we arrived to "La cubierta" at 15.30 and obviously there was quite a queue, but we still thought that we could make it to front row. It was a bit confusing as there were different queues around, and it looked like all of them were for the same, but anyway we stayed at what it seemed the “main one” as it was the bigger entrance… still I went around the place to see how many people were on the other queues, a lot less than on ours, that’s for sure, but no point in changing queue at that point. And I got to listen a bit of the soundcheck, but couldn’t figure out what they where singing as i was listening thru a metal door, and all was distorsioned…
I was a bit impressed of seeing people from other countries, like Japan, Germany, or Portugal, but what the heck, we all want to see a good show :P anyway the queue thing was still a confusion to us, and more confusing when 30 mins before the doors were to be opened, the organisation stuff, start to make different queues on the “main one” so we advanced quite some positions on the queue as we figured something like that would happen.
At 20.00 the gates were opened, and our ticket guy started late, so we stood there for like 2 minutes with people running past us…. But as soon it was opened we run like hell to make our way to 1st row, and yeiii we did!! To sit to wait till the support act appeared was a good idea, as we could rest a bit, plus we made a good space there, and we weren’t so squeezed. While waiting we did the wave several times, which was pretty cool too :P
20:45 and the support act came on. It was a Portuguese or Brazilian guy called “Joao Pedro Pais”, which wasn’t that bad as we expected, in fact he did have good songs (and the guitar player was awesome, not as keith LOL but very good). The best thing about it was that he did started to play on his spanish guitar a very famous song from an 80’s group, which we all knew, so we all in the crowed sang to it.
They were playing for like 40-50 minutes, and at 22:00 bryan and the band came out wearing black t-shirts and jeans. He started off with the usual “Here I Am”, and continued with the rockers. He didn’t do much chitchat at first, just some “Hola Madrid” that I remember. Well he did say “Hola” to the part of the crowd we were standing while “Cant Stop This Thing We Started” (I think he said it to me, but of course we always tend to think that, so he probably didn’t LOL). As he has been doing on recent shows, he played “Back To You” and “Summer Of 69” with his acoustic guitar, but we all sang as he was playing the all time rocker song, singing as loud as we could!!

He presented the band just before “It’s Only Love”, and Keith made an incredible solo as always. I saw that as he was singing “Cuts Like A Knife” he had some probs with his throat and some of the audience noticed, so they sang the “nananas” with the greatest enthusiasm, to encourage him to continue playing and as not to force his voice to much. I think it was during this song (I cant remember really, might have been on another :P) that some girl threw some flowers and a Spanish flag to the stage, and bryan took them both, left the flowers on top of a speaker, and the flag on top of Keith’s shoulders!! It was very funny…
After that he said that they were going to sing one more song, and then they’ll be back after 10 minutes break. It was then when he asked someone to go up the stage to sing “WYG”. The lucky girl was Carmen which was on the 5th or 6th row. She couldn’t believe she was there, and bryan asked her if she was “nervosa” (trying to say nervous in Spanish LOL). They handed her over the lyrics as usual, but on the solo, bryan took and threw the sheet of paper away… hehe nice one. She did manage it well, although we couldn’t hear much of her voice. At the end bryan gave her some t-shirts, for her and friends.

Then we had the 10 minutes break, and some people were getting very impacient as they didn’t know what was happening and started “boohing” and whistling. Next I was expecting “I’m Ready” (which we didn’t get… he might have cut a bit short cause of his throat) but, in fact Keith came out all alone and I was thinking he was going to say that the show was over or something like that, but my thought was very far from what was about to happen…

He started to play “HYERLAW”, then the rest of the band joined them and all the crowed went nuts!! It was awesome. Then we heard the upbeat version of Heaven, that I had heard from bootlegs but of course nothing compared to hearing it live. The rest of the show, also pretty standard (amazing “Somebody”, “TOTTLGOMIY”and “Run To You” doing the solo as a “duet” with Keith, simply amazing) .

He did more chat as the show was ending, he said he couldn’t speak Spanish so as to tell us exactly how he felt with such a great audience, so he had to tell us in English… he said something like he didn’t wanna go to the hotel room cause he loved the Spanish audience so much (still cant remember the exact words…) We asked for a couple of encores, although he just ended up with “The Best Of Me”(no “SFTH”, “PFM” or “TWYMMF”) but it was great as he came down to the gap to sing right next to the crowd, and went to the sides and just hugged everybody (a pity I was on the middle but I could touch him while he passed before us yeiii! (although he shaked the blonde’s hand right next to me, in fact he winked at her during the show… not that I wanted that, my sexual condition is still straight LOL just a comment :P). He took a couple of pictures of the crowd as usual, he said they were for “his mum” LOL

It really was a great show, maybe not as good as the Barcelona one as I’ve heard (no bstage as the venue was quite small - 10,000 people - , throat probs so a bit less than 2 hours show), but I had a great time. I was impressed that the tickets were sold out, and also with the sound of the venue, which people had told me it sucked, but it did sound very good during BA part (with the support act you couldn’t hear what were they singing ), just some probs with the mics, squeaky sounds at first, but fixed with soundboard later.

HOPE HE COMES BACK REAL SOON, people on spain loves him as much as on the other places around the world!!! Fall tour maybe…?? LOL
