Canadian singer Bryan Adams was forced to cancel
the first of two concerts in Portugal on Monday after he lost his
voice during a weekend concert in Spain, organisers of the event
said on Tuesday.
"Bryan Adams lost his voice in the Spanish
capital, was treated in hospital and returned to his hotel where
he had to remain for 24 hours without speaking," spokesperson
Nuno Braancamp told reporters after the cancellation of the gig
in the northern city of Oporto.
The 43-year-old Grammy winner cut short a concert
in Madrid on Sunday night after developing problems with his voice,
according to Portuguese press reports.
Tickets for his concert in Oporto, Portugal's second
largest city, had been sold out for weeks.
