12/06/03 - BEACH PARTY, SKIVE

Review by Andreas Kristensen:
Openair gig down by the sea, with approx 10.000 fans! Good mood among everyone, and nice to finally see Adams open air! This was in the city of Skive, only 40 km from Viborg, where he played two years ago…. There was a nice interview w/ Adams arriving in Karup Airport, and concert footage in the local TV-news… oh yeah, there was also interview with fans and giving a shot at “here I am” – very amusing TV! Two times in this area, and not even near Copenhagen - - hats’ of to Adams for playing “less” known locations!

As I’ve said before, the “new” band formed in November are getting’ more and more comfortable as musicians playing together as a band…. Now it’s almost like in the early 1990’s, Waking Up the World/So Far So Good Tours for example, with lotsa impro solos, joking around on-stage, running while playing.. more loose and “not layed out” before going on-stage! Great live action and energy!!

Belinda; from Horsens – “Who works as a Gasolin station” as she said (!) – Adams replied, “You work as a
Gasolin station? – Fantastic eh!” , - - she was nervous and did speak correctly, but very happy and wild rocking on-stage…. A nice 18-rocking set, short though, was finsihed off with C’mon Everybody showcasing Adams doing some awesome jammin’ solo’s on his black stratocaster!!! It was like in the old days man!! – Great mood, all of the dudes too - - and Adams yelled out to Lance, when he’d just played the intro on lead for; “Somebody” – “More power” – and gosh the strat sounded fat and powerlike.. now Adams was ready to really hit it off and I’ve never heard anything like this.. absolutely great!!!

Only complaint… Adams still plays 3 tracks without the second verse, although full band is back - - and can’t wait for the next album and tour.. hopefully Adams will return to the longer sets he did in 1996/1997…. Songs like “Remember”, “One Night Love Affair”, “Do I Have To Say The Words” and “Kids Wanna Rock” would be nice to hear again!!
I was surprised, to hear people knew “Here I Am” JUST as good as an old rocker, and “Can’t Stop This Thing We Started” got the best singalong I’ve ever heard!

After recording the May 9th Dormund concert on my DVDCamera, and also the Hamburg March 14 gig - - I didn’t bring it with me this time; but my friend Soeren, brough his old DV-tape camera with him and recorded the gig, while I rocked up front!

One of my favourite gigs so far!! Rock on Adams!
