20/06/04 - STADTPARK, HAMBURG

Review by Alex:
oh what a crazy week it was: very little sleep, hurrying on german highways, waiting and waiting, observing the sky, many prayers that it would not rain, meeting a lot of funny people (new and old BAD friends - cheers to all of you), running for front row and forgetting about all that when the dudes appear on stage ...

the first gig in hamburg / stadtpark was extraordinary beautiful, mainly because of the venue. it is quite small, surrounded by hedges what causes an almost intimate, very cosy atmosphere. a small stone wall and some grass is all what separates the stage from the audience. bryan and keith played more on the meadow than on stage and took every opportunity to get close to the crowd. it was just awesome. there was a lot of shake hands and during BOM bryan even pulled a girl out of the crowd to dance with him - we´re only happy, when we´re DANCING ...

the WYG girl was basically excited to have a boyfriend and we all know that his name is philip now.
after 1,5 hrs. the ball was over. figure you already read about bryan and the bags. this first show felt like the first shower after a desert trail - even if april is not too long ago. it was absolutely fantastic, just very short, but i was hoping that we would get some additional songs at the following shows.

what else needs to be mentioned ? ah: keiths haircut ! fits ya good, keith - really. no, there are no news about him playing guitar. he´s still the best ;)

outside it seemed as if half hamburg had showed up to listen to the concert from the street. there were the cars from stuttgart and the one for bryan was easily to identify by the pillow an the back and a couple of water bottles. he would not be crazy enough to come out here, would he ? i expected the car to drive in to pick him up, but the entrance was blocked by the trucks being loaded. first keith, mickey and norm got into their car and took a few minutes to give autographs. after more waiting bryan appeared but the crowd was still very big. if he had started talking, that would have taken all night. so he quickly signed the tickets of the lucky ones standing directly at the cars door before he went off.
