07/03/05 - ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE, WOLLONGONG

We took our time travelling from down from Mudgee. Another gorgeous summer’s day with a little bit of sight seeing thrown in for Lorri and Wendy our interstate visitors. Via the Blue Mountains and of course Camden to check in on the board!! Arrived in Wollongong late afternoon. Only a few u turns and we were at another deluxe hotel!! Would have been good if everyone in the car knew the name of the hotel….as the two who did’t couldn’t see it!! Thanks Lorri!! yes…and the name was familiar for a reason!! quick…U turn!!

Support act this time was again Shannon Noll, who seems to get better each time we see him. He is really working the crowds and getting everyone primed for Bryan.

From the moment they hit the stage Bryan seemed determined to make up for the previous days gig and really got into the show. The setlist was the same, but the audience reaction was amazing and Bryan acknowledged the crowd and made some reference to the Mudgee gig. The WYG was OK, probably the best we’ve seen on this tour although Bryan seemed to have trouble understanding her Aussie accent.

Bryan enjoyed travelling around on this tour. He like the country side. He loved seeing the kangaroos hopping around everywhere. He said that “ …. at home in Canada we only have beavers….. Do you have beavers in Oz?….” Quite a lot of laughing from the audience!!

We would pretty much have to say it was the best gig. The crowd was excellent!! Wendy reckoned it was Flying, just like Brissie.

Of course the big hit was our Tshirts!! Of which we forgot to take a piccie of!! doh!!! We wondered why people were looking at us on the streets. We had neon pink fabric paint scrawled on a black t shirt saying “Bryan’s Back Up singers”, although this may not be particularly original we kinda thought it fit!! A few phone calls from the gig to other baddies…and all u could hear was the back up singers!! Plus we had the dancing moves downpat….just like the real thing. We decided that the tshirts at the merchandise stand were a tad expensive. Not too mention too small for a couple of us!!! doh!! And figured we could design something just as good!! it seems the merchandiser has taken offence at this and to increase the interest in his product put up the price!!! He did offer us $5 for all four shirts!!! He Was Only Dreaming!! Now Delia is banned from the merchandise stand or has to pay double for any item!! She is such a quiet beige girl I don’t know how (I) she gets into trouble!! I think it’s the volcano red hair…a good target!!

Had yet another extremely late night chatting. Catching up with some of the crew at the Novotel. Thanks to the other baddies for their company too. Would have had a little sleep in… but Wendy was off to Sydney for her flight and the keg deliveries come in early in Wollongong!! Wollongong was fanfuckingtastic!!!, that’s come from Vicki, beige girl number 1 so it’s gotta be true. Sorry to be blunt….but it was!!!!

Well….. pity Bryan hasn’t stayed around for the usual autographs and all. But so far it has been a blast. One gig left to go. Two plane flights til we are all back home in our own beds!! Back to 5 star accommodation!!!!
