Bryan was part of an elite panel of judges to select the winners in this year's Ivor Novello Awards for songwriting, held in London on Thursday.

Also judging was Cathy Dennis, Peter Cunah (who replaced dropout Guy Chambers), Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel fame and Keane's Tim Rice Oxley.
